Fishtown Real Estate

Fishtown is North of Northern Liberties and is directly Northeast of Center City. The name comes from the fact that many of the late 18th and early 19th century settlers to the Philadelphia area were looking for property that had fishing rights along the Delaware River and this bustling section of the city became known for those fish markets. Today, Fishtown is not best known for its fish markets, but it has experienced a growth of posh renovated row homes and other trendy establishments. With lots of restaurants, bars and shops, and easy access to major highways and public transportation, Fishtown has become a popular destination to live for those that want to be close to Center City and the river.
