He kept an open line of communication with us and always followed up with our thoughts on houses. We’ve seen many houses with him and he was professional with us and other realtors. Lay was patient, never pushed/swayed us one way or another but was always honest with us. We had many talks about our game plan and what we were comfortable with. He’s easily reachable and on top of deadlines which are great qualities you’ll want in a realtor. We found our dream home after many searches.

In late 2020 my husband and I decided to leave central New Jersey, where we have lived for over fifty years and move to Delaware County to be near our children. After looking at several condos with Lay our search concentrated on Terrazza in Newtown Square. We looked at several apartments in the complex and Lay was able to learn of our priorities. When a sellers agent contacted Lay about a unit that would not go on the market for several months to close in September 2021 Lay realized that it checked all our boxes. As a result, and with guidance from Lay, we signed a contract the end of December to close in September. Because of the unusually long lead time Lay was able to arrange several visits for us in this still occupied apartment including a visit that included our contractors so that remodeling plans could be finalized. Lay did an excellent job guiding us through all the paperwork and procedures from contract to closing which he attended. It had been many years since my husband and I had completed a real estate transaction and Lay’s expertise made the entire process easy for us. He also gave us guidance as to procedures and locations for getting Pennsylvania auto registrations and drivers licenses.

He always answered his call (even at after work hours and sometimes mid-night) and replied to emails swiftly. He had a terrific understanding of the local market and I’ll use him again the next time I buy a home. Highly recommended! He was able to get me my first property for under asking and the appraisal came in $10k above my purchase price. It is more important than ever to have the right agent representing you! We placed Lay against many other realtors and realtor alternatives, such as the 'modern' styles of the online platforms honed into being all virtual essentially. With the low commission price and the same utilization of the online tools such as MLS, we had to really weigh out the pros and cons of the traditional vs the modern style in terms of saving money and ability to sell, especially during this pandemic in the city. In the end, it's hard to determine the "what if's," but the strategies and willingness attitude of Lay definitely strengthen our choice to choose him over others. He was able to suggest pricing at a good point and not need to drop so much, or none at all, resulting in more of a stronger contender with negotiation. He is also more stubborn than me, in a good way, to retain every dollar that I was easily willing to forgo to finalize the transaction and took his own personal time to make sure plan B, C, and D works before giving up. He's really responsive all time of the days, and I've tested this many, many times, and willing to help or provide opinion or connections that is even outside the field. Overall, to keep this short, I wouldn't hesitate to use him again and trust he would make the better decision for us or anyone. Not only will you find a great realtor, but most likely, you'll become friends with him and abuse his knowledge and networking. :)

From the very beginning, Marcus showed a high level of knowledge regarding all aspects of buying and selling. He kept us informed every step of the way and was always patiend and willing to answer my many, many questions! He was a great negotiator, always let us know what our options were and I felt confident we were in good hands throught the whole process. Not only the pandemia situation but also the low interest rate and people buying houses more than usual added it a little difficulty to the process. We are a family of five moving from Texas so all combined was a recipe for disaster. Marcus was able to help us through the stressing process. She helped us to search for a house for our son who was recently employed in Philadelphia. Brittany performed a careful Search based on our son’s price range and other requests. She was always open and honest when discussing the pros and cons and very patient as we considered various options. Besides being extremely pleasant and gracious, we were always impressed by the fact that she made herself accessible anytime of the day and returned messages instantly. Not once during the process of home buying did Lay make this feel like a business transaction. He kept our best interest in mind at all times and even let us know when a potential purchase wasn't a good idea. His first focus was putting us in a home that we loved. Lay put in the hours that others wouldn't to get us both virtual and in-person tours at multiple properties. His relationship with lenders and insurance agents made the purchasing process completely seamless - we had everything we needed to close the deal ahead of schedule. I would normally stress over such a big event, but that wasn't the case at all. To top things off, he helped us beat 7 offers to land our dream home. I would give him 6 stars if I could.
